What Is Non-Operative Fracture Management?

Non-operative fracture management focuses on supporting the natural healing of the bone without surgical intervention.

This approach typically involves the use of:

  • Casts – to immobilise and protect the fracture site
  • Splints – to provide stability while allowing for swelling
  • Braces – to support movement and maintain correct alignment during recovery

Each treatment plan is tailored to the type, location, and severity of your fracture to promote effective healing.

How We Can Help

  • We provide non-operative fracture management for patients who have been assessed and referred from hospital as suitable for treatment without surgery.
  • Our non-operative fracture management service is bulk billed, making it affordable and accessible, ensuring your recovery is supported in a way that is both convenient and cost-effective.

What Happens After the Hospital Refers Me?

Our doctors will:

  • Review your hospital notes, imaging, and recommendations
  • Assess your injury and confirm suitability for ongoing management in the clinic
  • Apply or adjust the cast, splint, or brace as needed
  • Provide detailed care and follow-up instructions to support your recovery

Regular review appointments are scheduled to monitor healing progress and make any necessary adjustments.

Once your fracture has fully healed and your treatment is complete, you will be discharged back to the care of your usual GP for ongoing health management.
